Silver Archer South 2010: Top PR-Projects Named

February 4, 2011 saw a ceremony of awarding the winners in the 1st regional PR project contest Silver Archer South. The Best PR Project award in the “Business” nomination went to Rostselmash, while Agrocom Group’s student ads festival FARSH was named the winner in “Society” nomination. The grand jury agreed that the prize in the “Government” nomination should go to Astrakhan’s administration for its “Under the Russian Tricolor” project to mark the Day of the City.

The Person of the Year became Rostov-on-Don’s Mayor Mikhail Anatolievich Chernyshev.

The award ceremony was preceded by a free-for-all discussion of the best projects on the shortlist. The authors of nine best PR actions in the South of Russia presented their projects to the jury and PR-specialists.

The program of the 1st regional PR contest Silver Archer South included master classes by invited celebrities, including Nikolai Belousov, the head of the Moscow branch of Panasonic’s Internet Marketing division, who elaborated on the progress of the social media market in Runet, and Marina Alexandrina, the director of the Rostov-based office of HeadHunter, who dwelt on the situation observed on the PR labor market in the south of Russia.

All best regional projects were nominated as candidates to take part in the national leg of the Silver Archer competition, while that by Rostselmash, which involved the setting of a World Guinness Book record, got green light to participate in the first phase of the National Award ceremony in Moscow on February 14, 2011.

“The national prize Silver Archer has facilitated the professional development of the communications sphere in Russia for the 14th year in succession. The successful launch of the contest in Russia’s South and Siberia opened new vistas for PR communities in these regions. We are looking forward to holding regional legs of the Silver Archer in all federal districts, and rely largely on the organizational support by AGT Communication Group of companies,” Vyacheslav Lashchevsky, AGT’s Chairman and a member of the Silver Archer supervisory board, said.

The contest organizers are AGT Communication Group’s Rostov-on-Don office, and the executive directorate of the Silver Archer PR community prize.

About regional PR prize Silver Archer South:

The contest has involved over 1,600 entries over the past 14 years, each project demonstrating a way of achieving social and business objectives by means of PR technologies. The market of PR services has long been using the professional quality standards, promoted by the Silver Archer. Moreover, the contest helps define and clear up issues concerning the understanding of the complexity and multidimensional nature of public communications. The contest normally involves public lectures by experienced and successful celebrities, who are real masters of the art of communication. Presentations of the best books on the topic are held every year. Silver Archer was sort of a platform to launch a cluster of regional prize competitions, including PROBA-IPRA, White Wing, RuPoR, and Golden Sable. In 2010 the Silver Archer came to Siberia, the south of Russia and Samara. All organizers inked the Memorandum of Professional Prizes, according to which the winner of a regional leg is entitled to a public discussion of its project and the National Prize diploma beginning in 2010. The participant is to pay a registration fee of 5,000 rubles and submit project documentation in compliance with the recommendations. Charity projects are registered free of charge. The best projects are outlined in the Book of 50 Best Projects released on a biannual basis. Noteworthy, the fifth volume is coming soon.

The decision to hold a regional leg of the National Prize in the South of Russia was made October 7, 2010 at the meeting of the Supervisory Council of the Silver Archer National Prize of PR projects. The same meeting resolved to launch Silver Archers in Siberia and Samara. The organizers of the contests in Siberia and the South are AGT Siberia and AGT Rostov-on-Don respectively, which are regional divisions of AGT Communications Group.
